In Feb we took a two week family vacation to Hong Kong and Thailand with the kids and for part of the trip with friends with kids. We traveled, saw neat things, ate lots of tasty food, relaxed, and enjoyed the sites. Even with two small kids we did and saw a lot. Hong Kong is big, fast, full of people and tall buildings and great views. The shopping (or food or anything really) is either very expensive or very cheap. We never really found the middle ground. Transportation to / from / and in HK was a high light for Eric. We took planes, boats, a tram, a cable car (more like what we would call a gondola car) and taxis. All which were great in their own way.
The island of Koh Samui, Thailand was a nice slow down from HK. We swam every day either in the pool or ocean - both were amazingly warm. We ate fresh fruit that was so good and discovered Mangostein for the first time. We hung out with our friends, Brian, Jolie, Chasin, and Cole and had a really good time. Jolie and I got a Thai massage. We ate lots of good cheap good food. We road in a Tuk Tuk. We walked along the streets and looked at the variety of wares being hocked - and didn't buy any. Mostly we just relaxed and enjoyed.
Now we are home but getting ready for a trip to Santa Barbara, followed by a trip to Austin and then Hawaii. So more pictures to come!
